Celebrant : Dear brothers and sisters, Jesus teaches us that religion can be summed up in the commandment of love. With confidence in God's love for us, let us place before Him all our needs, saying:

Response : Lord, hear us in your love.

  1. As the Year of the Eucharist draws to a close, we pray that we may avail of all that our parish and the Universal church offers us to know and understand the Eucharist better. We pray to the Lord.

  2. For the new government in our State of Maharashtra : that those who come into leadership may serve selflessly and wisely. We pray to the Lord.

  3. For our JFC children who will go for their picnic tomorrow/ have gone for their picnic today, that they may enjoy themselves and return safely. We pray to the Lord.

  4. For our Youth who will be leaving for Manor for their Mission Work Camp tomorrow/today. We pray to the Lord.

NOVEMBER 02, 2014
Celebrant : Dear brothers and sisters, today we remember and pray for all the departed souls, especially those of our family. The Lord listens to us, so let us pray to Him with great faith, saying:

Response : Lord, graciously hear our prayer

  1. We join Pope Francis in his prayer intention for this month : that all who suffer loneliness may experience the closeness of God and the support of others. We pray to the Lord.

  2. For all victims of violence and persecution, especially in the Middle East and in our own country, victims of Ebola, dengue and other illnesses, and victims of natural calamities. We pray to the Lord.

  3. For all those in our parish who have lost a loved one during this year : that the Lord's presence may comfort them. We pray to the Lord.

  4. For all those who have died in our family and Parish community: that they may enjoy eternal bliss in the company of all angels and saints in Heaven. We pray to the Lord.

VIOLENCE-FREE FAMILIES DAY
NOVEMBER 09, 2014
INTRODUCTION :
Today, the Universal Church celebrates the Dedication of the Lateran Basilica - a symbol of the Living Church of the people of God. The church in Mumbai also raises its voice against violence of any kind within the family. Let us pray that this Eucharist strengthens us to take a stand like Christ against the abuse and misuse of power.

Celebrant : Brothers and sisters, it is our personal responsibility to protect our body temple from desecration because it is the dwelling place of God. Let us bring our petitions for violence-free homes to our Creator, saying :

Response : Loving God, be our refuge.

  1. That Pope Francis, the leaders of the Church, and all who preach the Gospel, may continue to usher in an era of violence-free Christian homes, (pause) .. for this we pray ..

  2. That the recent Family Synod addresses the needs of Christian families wounded, scarred and broken by violence, (pause) .. for this we pray ..

  3. That those in public office may take firm action to enforce the law, to promote equality and the dignity of both men and women, (pause) .. for this we pray ..

WORLD COMMUNICATIONS SUNDAY
NOVEMBER 16, 2014
INTRODUCTION :
Today the church in India celebrates WORLD COMMUNICATIONS SUNDAY. God continues to communicate His love and mercy to us in various ways even today. At this Eucharist, let us pray that we may use the social networking systems and new sophisticated communication technologies to proclaim Jesus to the world.

PRAYER OF THE FAITHFUL
Celebrant : Dear brothers and sisters, God has given us the gift of media. Let us pray that we may use it wisely for the welfare of humanity, saying:

Response : Lord, hear our prayer.

  1. For the leaders of the Church: that they may communicate Christ and his Gospel by making use of digital technology. We pray to the Lord.

  2. For our families : that parents and children, especially teenagers, may communicate with each other with love and understanding. We pray to the Lord.

  3. For those working in mass media : that they may transmit and broadcast fairly and responsibly. We pray to the Lord.

  4. For all of us : that we may learn to listen and contemplate as well as to speak so that we may be channels of God's mercy and compassion, especially to the lonely and rejected. We pray to the Lord.

  5. (Only for Youth Mass) For the Parish Youth Council that with the help of the Neighbourhood Youth Groups, they will make Kidzonia a beautiful and memorable moment for all the kids of our parish. We pray to the Lord.

FEAST OF CHRIST THE KING

PRAYER OF THE FAITHFUL
Celebrant : Dear brothers and sisters, Christ Jesus, our Risen Lord and King, intercedes with the Father in heaven on our behalf. So, with confidence, let us turn to God, through Jesus, and pray in the Spirit, saying:

Response : Lord, may your Kingdom come.

  1. For our Pope, Bishops and the Clergy everywhere that they may lead us to a deeper faith in God and in our search for peace, joy and love amongst all people. We pray to the Lord.

  2. We pray for all our national leaders and all other leaders that they may realize that it is in service and love that one finds fulfillment. We pray to the Lord.

  3. Let us pray for all Associations of our parish that by their commitment, they may render their services to spread your kingdom. We pray to the Lord.

  4. Our parish theme for this year of the Eucharist is "BECOME WHAT YOU RECEIVE". We pray in a very special way that all of us in this parish will surrender ourselves to Christ's kingship with a readiness to serve him faithfully and in humility and practice his teachings in our lives. PRAYER OF THE FAITHFUL
Celebrant : God is our Father and redeemer, no matter what our failures are. We pray to the Lord that He may come to our rescue as He rescued the people of Israel in their exile, saying:

Response : Lord, listen to our petitions.

  1. For the Universal Church as she enters into the Season of Advent : that she may lead her people to a thorough change of heart, we pray to the Lord.

  2. For our Archdiocese : that as the Year of the Eucharist draws to a close with so many programmes being planned, we may truly live the Eucharist in our daily lives, both inside and outside the church, we pray to the Lord.

  3. For our Parish : that the Fiesta during this weekend may make us aware that we are one family and belong to each other and need to look out for each other, we pray to the Lord.

  4. For Lavina D'Souza of our parish who will be making her final profession as a Canossian Sister on Dec.3rd and for her parents, John and Martina D'Souza of Shakti Apartments, Chakala, we pray to the Lord.

2nd SUNDAY IN ADVENT
DECEMBER 7, 2014
PRAYER OF THE FAITHFUL
Celebrant : Dear brothers and sisters, when all institutions and messengers proved to be insufficient to redeem humanity, God sent His own Son. We pray that we may ever remain grateful to God for His loving plans for us, saying:

Response : Lord, hear our prayer.

  1. We join Pope Francis in his universal prayer intention for this month : that the birth of the Redeemer may bring peace and hope to all people of good will. We pray to the Lord.

  2. As the Archdiocesan celebration of the closing of the Year of the Eucharist is being held tomorrow/this evening, let us pray that we may continue to draw from the riches the Eucharist offers us. We pray to the Lord.

  3. That the newly installed Cross at the old grotto be a constant reminder to each of us that 'There is no other road that leads to life, except the holy road of the Cross'. We pray to the Lord.

  4. As we have lit the candle of Peace on the wreath on this 2nd Sunday of Advent, let us pray for peace within ourselves, in our families and in the world. We pray to the Lord.

3rd SUNDAY IN ADVENT
DECEMBER 14, 2014
PRAYER OF THE FAITHFUL
Celebrant : Dear friends in Christ, through our baptism we have become the children of God. Let us ask the Holy Spirit to enable us to prepare ourselves for the coming of the Saviour.

Response : Come Holy Spirit and help us to welcome our Saviour.

  1. We pray, along with Pope Francis, that parents may be true evangelisers, passing on to their children the precious gift of faith. We pray to the Lord.

  2. Pope Francis has declared open the Year of Consecrated Life for the Universal Church a few days ago. Let us pray that all our consecrated brothers and sisters may seek to reproduce in themselves the nature of Christ. We pray to the Lord.

  3. The Church has also begun preparing for the General Synod on the Family in October 2015. We pray for all families, especially those in need of any kind, and those in our parish. We pray to the Lord.

  4. We have just a few days to go for Christmas. Let's pray that, while we make our preparations for the coming of the Lord, we may also think of those for whom it will be a lonely day, away from family and friends. We pray to the Lord.

PRAYER OF THE FAITHFUL
Celebrant : Dear brothers and sisters, let us pray to our heavenly Father that the whole world may be flooded with the grace and the light of Jesus' coming, saying:

Response : Lord, hear our prayer.

  1. For our Holy Father, Pope Francis, who celebrated his 78th birthday last week, we pray to the Lord.

  2. For the families who have lost their children in the terror attack in Pakistan and for the children who have been injured and traumatized, we pray to the Lord.
    Response

  3. For those in authority in our country, that while making decisions, they may keep in mind the religious sentiments of the people, especially the minorities, we pray to the Lord.

  4. For those families and individuals in our country, who are living in fear and those who are being coerced to make decisions regarding their faith, we pray to the Lord.

FEAST OF THE HOLY FAMILY
DECEMBER 28, 2014
INTRODUCTION :
Jesus, Mary and Joseph, form a perfect family and are a model to all our families. As the Archdiocese of Bombay announces 2015 a year of the Eucharist and the Family, in our parish, we dedicate this year to the enhancement of family life. As we celebrate the feast of the Holy Family, we shall pray to Jesus, Mary, & Joseph to grant us the grace to strengthen family bonds based on love, compassion, understanding and unity.

PRAYER OF THE FAITHFUL
Celebrant : God, the source of unconditional love and compassion, has given us the Holy Family as a gift and a model to follow. We ask God to bless us with His grace and Love and to mould our lives according to His will.

Response : Lord strengthen our families with love.

  1. For our Holy Father, Bishops, Priests and religious that they may effectively help families to follow in the footsteps of the Holy Family of Nazareth.

  2. May the teachings of the synod on the family be implemented all over the world among the Catholics.

  3. We pray for the leaders of our nation. May their plans and policies be made to strengthen family life.

  4. For our Parish Community, which is a larger family under Christ, that we may be ever willing to help out those in need and work for the betterment of our community.

  5. For the broken families, that they may experience the healing love of God and work towards mending their family bonds as God wants it.

  6. As we strive to build our own families the media and other forces bombard us with anti-family values. Protect us from these forces which are creeping into our families.

THANKSGIVING PRAYER :
God our heavenly Father we thank you for the gift of our families. We thank you for the holy family of Nazareth, which is a perfect role model for us to follow. Nourished by the Eucharist we will do our best to imitate the Holy Family in our daily lives so that our families too may be ever loving and united. We make this prayer through Christ our Lord.    Amen.
